There’s a special place we all know.
It’s a memory. A deep breath. The feeling of being completely present—here and now—while still experiencing a sense of nostalgia.
The smell of the water. The sound of a gull overhead. A gentle breeze on your face. It feels familiar, as though you’ve been there before.
Maybe you’re a child experiencing it for the first time. Maybe you’ve lived a long, full life, and it takes you back to another place and another time. Either way, being on the water brings us into a shared moment.
It’s magical. It’s connected. It’s innately human.
Wilmington Water Tours was founded on the belief that there is no better way to experience Wilmington than from the Cape Fear River. We created a place where locals and visitors could slow down, connect and experience those moments together.
In 2009, we began welcoming guests aboard for river cruises, specialty experiences and private charters. Our eco-friendly catamaran, The Wilmington, was built specifically for this river. Today, you can spot her along the Riverwalk by her signature teal color and bright green cat eyes.
Since then, more than one million people have joined us on the water.

Wilmington’s history and stories began along this river, and we believe it remains one of the best places to experience our city and connect with the people who make it special.
