The smell of the water, hearing a gull laugh and a gentle breeze on your face, is like you’ve been here before. Whether you are a child feeling it for the first time or a well lived senior, remembering back to all the moments that felt like this. There is a shared moment that we all find ourselves in on the water. It’s magical, connected, and innately human.

Wilmington Water Tours was born out of the need to bring these moments to our local community and seasonal tourists. The belief that there is no better way to experience Wilmington than from the Cape Fear River. In 2009, Wilmington Water Tours started the journey welcoming the community aboard and highlighting specialty cruises and private charters. The Wilmington Cat, an eco-friendly catamaran, was built specifically for this river, and can be spotted on the river walk. It can be recognized by the teal color and the bright green cat eyes.

Since then, we are proud to say we have brought over ‘1 MILLION’ people out on the water. One million of those special moments. From engagements, weddings, holiday cruises, first dates and all the in between, we are honored to have been part of all the unique experiences here on our boat. The history and stories all began on this river, and it is truly the best way to see our town and connect with the people. As a locally owned business in downtown Wilmington, Wilmington Water Tours has connected with other small businesses and other local organizations throughout the years. Working within our community to bring people together and new experiences to life on the river.
